Awards for farmers' clubs

The copy of the Annual Credit Plan (ACP) for the fiscal 2010-11 was released by Collector P. Umanath.

He also presided over the standing committee of the district bankers. NABARD also presented awards to the best performing farmers' clubs. Pasumai Farmers Club of Vadakkipalayam, Chinna Negamam Farmers Club bagged the second prize and Konde Kavundampalayam Farmers Club bagged the third prize.

LPG grievance day

The District Revenue Officer has proposed to conduct a grievance meeting for LPG consumers at KG Trust Marriage Hall near Annur bus stand on August 17 at 10.30 a.m.

The meeting would be attended by Civil Supplies Department officials, Oil Corporation officials and Annur area LPG distributors. The grievance meeting will be followed by a session enabling the public in Annur area to have the miscellaneous services on their Public Distribution System (PDS) family cards such as removal of names, address change, change of fair price shop and other grievances relating to civil supplies.

Tata Indicom's Ulta Plan

Tata Indicom has announced the launch of Ulta Plan which offers STD calling at 30 paise per minute, according to

Chief Operating Officer S. Chandramohan.

Under the new Plan, the existing as well as new prepaid subscribers would also be able to make local calls and it would be 50 paise per minute.



Contests for





school children



The Tamil Nadu Science Forum (TNSF) is organising a series of contests for school children on August 14 at the CMS Matriculation School in Ganapathy at 10 a.m. to mark the Hiroshima – Nagasaki Days. A release from District Secretary of TNSF, Mohammed Basha and co-ordinator Kannapiran said that former Vice-Chancellor of Gandhigram University, N. Markandan would inaugurate the contests. Prize distribution and a seminar would take place in the afternoon.
