Australia focusses on non-IT firms

CHENNAI: After the soft launch of Australian Government’s three-year initiative, ‘Utsav Australia,’ in India, Australian Trade Commission (Austrade) has been conducting a series of seminars in the last few days in different parts of the country to raise awareness of Australian industry capability and help Indian companies find the right partner.

In line with the Utsav, “Doing business with Australia” seminar was held here on Wednesday.

The Indo-Australian Chamber of Commerce plans to take a high-level business delegation to various Australian cities to explore new opportunities. and strengthen the existing ones.

Australian Consul-General and Trade Commissioner for South India Aminur Rahman said India was an important trading partner for Australia. The focus was on non-IT/BT firms in Tamil Nadu. Australia could provide value-added competitive solutions and expertise in traditional as well as emerging sectors.
