Association’s plea

The Tamil Nadu Foodgrains Merchants’ Association has requested the Commissioner of Police to allow heavy vehicles to unload goods at Vengalakadai Street from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

In a memorandum, association secretary J. Raja Mohan has said that owing to the present restriction on unloading of goods, the traders of the Vengalakadai Street were facing losses.

Wastages were also high as most traders of the street dealt with food and food-related products. Allowing unloading of goods on the left side of the street would help the traders to a great extent, he said.
