AIADMK team to elicit public views on Tata project

Nine-member panel to visit Tuticorin and Tirunelveli districts



CHENNAI: All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam general secretary Jayalalithaa on Saturday said that she had appointed a nine-member committee to visit Tuticorin and Tirunelveli districts to elicit public opinion on the proposed titanium dioxide project.

In a statement here, she said the committee would submit its findings, based on the feedback obtained from the local people, to her. People’s views would be publicised through the media.

The team comprises AIADMK election wing secretary O. Panneerselvam; headquarters secretary K.A. Sengottaiyan; minorities’ wing secretary P.H. Pandian; secretary of the Jayalalithaa Peravai N. Thalavaisundaram; joint secretary of the election wing Nainar Nagenthran; organising secretary C. Karuppasamy; Tuticorin district secretary Anitha R. Radhakrishnan; Tirunelveli (rural) district secretary Senthur Pandian; and Tirunelveli city secretary V. Muthiah.
