88.67 pass percentage in Tuticorin district

TUTICORIN: The district recorded a pass percentage of 88.67 in the SSLC examination results announced here on Saturday. Of the 17,681 students who appeared for the exams, 15,678 came out successfully.

Official sources told The Hindu that a total of 58 schools, which include 28 state board, 29 matriculation and one Anglo Indian schools, registered hundred per cent pass in the district.

Tuticorin educational district

A total of 10,499 (5,706 girls and 4,793 boys) students passed out of 11,441 appeared for the SSLC examinations, registering a 91.7 percentage success rate.

V. Maharasi of Holy Cross Girls' Higher Secondary School (State second rank) stood first among the successful candidates in the educational district with 489/500 marks.

In the matriculation exams, 647 students out of 690 passed.

K. Rohit of Anitakumaran Matriculation HSS stood first in the district with 1033/1100 followed by Deepikalakshmi of Geeta Matriculation School with 1032/1100.

The DEO said 42 schools, including 20 matriculation schools and one Anlgo Indian school, registered 100 per cent pass.

Kovilpatti education district

The pass percentage in the SSLC examinations stood at 83 per cent after 5,182 students out of a total 6,240 students appeared for the exam came out with flying colours.

Official sources said 86 percentage of girls who appeared for the exam passed in the district (i.e. Kovilpatti educational district) while success among the boys stood at 80 percentage.

R. Satyakumar and G. Priyanka, both from Kovilpatti Nadar HSS, stood first and second in the Kovilpatti educational district respectively with 486 and 481 marks.

In the matriculation exams, 372 out of 389 passed registering a whopping 97 percentage. V. Shylaj of Kamaraj Matriculation School, Kovilpatti, scored 1,045 /1,100.
