Krishnagiri: Prohibition Enforcement Wing (PEW) personnel seized 500 bottles of spurious liquor worth Rs.1.25 lakh, which was being smuggled in a car, near here on Saturday.
Acting on a tip-off, a PEW team was conducting vehicle checks on the Krishnagiri-Hosur National Highway when they noticed the car bearing a military number plate and a revolving light speeding towards Krishnagiri. On seeing the police, the driver abandoned the vehicle and fled. — Staff Reporter
