4 held on charge of stone throwing

VELLORE: Four persons including a Desiya Murpokku Dravida Kazhagam activist were arrested in connection with two incidents of pelting stones at government buses in two different parts of Vellore district on Monday night, protesting against the reported “killing” of the leader of the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam V. Prabakaran.

According to the police, J. Dhinesh Kumar (25) of Sandhanakottai, Balu alias Murugan (26) of Keezhpallipattu and D. Suresh Babu (25) of Keezhvallam were arrested for pelting stones at a Tamil Nadu State Transport Corporation bus proceeding from Tiruvannamalai to Vellore at Sandhanakottai on Monday night.

Kubi alias Kubendran alias Udayakumar (30), the DMDK activist of Sunnambupettai in Gudiyatham town, was arrested in connection with the stoning of the TNSTC bus in Gudiyatham on Monday night.
