A three-day summer camp of Future Bright Innovators (FBI) for intermediate students began at the Indian Institute of Information Technology (IIIT Sri City) on Wednesday.
The initiative, taken up in association with the Sri City Private Limited, aims to target students, from Chennai, Bengaluru, Tirupati and Nellore, to enhance their understanding in computing and applications. It will give them experience in the fields and is likely to help them pick subjects of their choice later.

Thermax Global Company’s Head (Operations) Shrikant Wale, who inaugurated the camp, highlighted a smart manufacturing process with industry 4.0 standards, while urging students to innovate in artificial intelligence, data analytics and 3D printing.
Sri City President (Operations) Satish Kamat listed out trends in manufacturing technologies and explained the development of smart cities. The summer camp will feature lectures by academics and industry experts, quiz, demonstrations by researchers and a visit to the Satish Dhawan Space Centre (SDSC), Sriharikota. Experts from IBM, Capgemini, Thermax, Alstom, Foxconn, Mondelez and Toray India will interact with students.
