‘Smuggler’ opens fire at Rajasthan cops

Jaipur: An SHO and a constable of Rajasthan police were injured on Tuesday in firing by a ‘smuggler’ in Pali district.

“The SHO and two constables were chasing two smugglers, who were transporting opium. Police managed to stop their vehicle near Godhawas village, and caught one of them but the other one opened fire from a country-made pistol and escaped in nearby forest area,” police sources said.

“The SHO of Marwar junction police station Khaleel Ahmad got injured in his arm, while the constable received injuries in thumb.” -- PTI
