Four workers killed in Kol Dam accident

Bilaspur: At least four labourers were killed and three injured after an iron rod foundation of a de-silting chamber of a private company collapsed in Kol Dam at Bilaspur district of Himachal Pradesh today, police and dam sources said.

The sources said four people were killed on the spot, while three were seriously injured after they were buried under the debris following the collapse of a de-silting chamber of a private company AFCON.

The seriously injured have been admitted to a government hospital at Bilaspur, where the doctors described their condition serious.

Dead identified

The dead have been identified as Naimudeen, Prabhu Ram, and Rajkumar, all from Jharkhand, while the fourth was identified as Nand All from Sundernagar in Mandi district.

The sources said their bodies were later pulled out of the debris by the dam authorities and workers of the company, adding that compensation to the next of the kin would be paid as per the labour laws. -- UNI
