The State government’s mission to position Odisha among the top three startup destinations in the country got a boost with the launch of the Startup Odisha web portal by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik here on Monday.

Inaugurating the portal, Mr. Patnaik called upon the youth to take full advantage of the initiative to realise their dreams.

The portal is a one-stop platform for startups, incubators and investors in the State for registration and availing of the benefits under the Odisha startup policy, Mr. Patnaik said.

He expressed hope that the portal will act as a catalyst in boosting the startup ecosystem in the State and help in achieving Mission-1000 startups by 2020.

Revised guidelines

The Chief Minister also released the compendium of the startup policy with amendments and revised guidelines.

The portal has been carefully crafted adhering to the three core principles of ease of usage, transparency and knowledge sharing. Having been seamlessly linked with the Union Ministry of Corporate Affairs and StartupIndia, it will reduce duplication of efforts in filling of information.

For developing the startup ecosystem in Odisha, the State government has identified access to infrastructure, mentorship and guidance, national and global exposure and access to funding as the major levers of growth.
