BHUBANESWAR: Dietician will be from Australia and lunch menu will carry continental flavour including of Italian and Thai in Orissa. Don’t get confused. It is no five-star hotel, but Sai International School (SIS) that is coming up in the capital city.

The food to be served for children of Crèche to Standard VII in the lunch is just one of the new standards the promoter of SIS have thought of introducing in the school education. The SIS, which intends to start enrolling students from 2008 academic session, is all set to provide unique educational experience for many in the State.

Built on an area of 5.5 acres at the gateway to Orissa first Infocity, the upcoming school is promising a lot with introduction of internationally experienced staff, state-of-the-art facilities and fully integrated curriculum to pursue global education.

"The SIS will offer CBSE curriculum that is seamlessly integrated with the US and British curriculum in the lower level. It emphasizes on learning than teaching. It will provide globally adoptable curriculum, which will help IT and other professionals migrating to or from Bhubaneswar to stop bothering about the quality of education for children," Arun Prakash, Director and principal of the school, said. The school has taken shape keeping demands of IT professionals working in IT majors such as Infosys, Wipro, TCS, Genpact and MindTree.

As per the plan, the school would absorb the concept of Co-educational Day Boarding School.

"We will be giving more emphasis on latent talent of a child than on his educational degrees. The best part of the children will be taken out," Mr. Prakash said.

Planned timetable

Executive Director of the School B. P. Mohapatra said the school would not allow private tuitions and no homework policy.

SIS, which is being set up by JSS Group, would also have facilities ranging from arts and crafts, performing arts, photography, film making and sports facilities.
