SBI cashier, guard attacked, cash looted

Varanasi: Unidentified men shot at the cashier and guard of the State Bank of India and looted the chest (cash box) containing Rs.10 lakh, near the Gangoli-Kamalpur village in Ghazipur district.

The incident took place on Monday when the cash box was brought from the main branch of the SBI at Mohammadabad to Kasimabad branch in a vehicle, with cashier Awdhesh Kumar and security guard Raj Narayan Yadav.

Six armed men on three motorcycles stopped the cash carrying vehicle and fired at the cashier, guard and driver, seriously injuring them, police said.
