Probe into college funds demanded

BERHAMPUR: The Ganjam Phulbani Chemists’ and Druggists Association (GPCDA) have demanded the administration to conduct an enquiry into the financial records of the association and the College of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Mahuda, managed by it.

Addressing a press conference in the city on Sunday, the secretary of the GPCDA, S.Ranjit Kumar Patro alleged that the former office- bearers of the association had not provided accounts of huge expenditure. It included expenditure worth around Rs. 80 lakh during the visit of the president APJ Abdul Kalam to the institute two years ago. They alleged that financial irregularities of the GPCDA in the past were related to the financial irregularities made by the former secretary of the Utkal Chemists and Druggists Association (UCDA), C.P.Das. It may be noted that Mr. Das is now in jail after getting arrested for financial irregularities. The GPCDA also demanded police investigation into the alleged financial irregularities by its former office-bearers.

They also demanded probe into the allegations against former office-bearers of the association.
