Haryana engineers directed to report to the management about any breakdown

Consumers to be told about reasons for non-supply

Cables of TV networks to be removed from power supply poles

CHANDIGARH: Uttar Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam has directed its Superintending Engineers (Operation) to ensure that there are minimum breakdowns and interruptions in power supply during the ongoing paddy season.

An official spokesman said here on Saturday that the engineers had been directed to report to the management any breakdowns and interruptions where the power could not be supplied for five hours or more with details and their comments. They would also inform the consumers of the areas concerned about the reasons for non-supply of electricity through print and electronic media.

According to the spokesman, it had been observed that one of the major reasons for the breakdowns in rural areas was unauthorised extension of load by the consumers.

The Nigam had also instructed the field officers that all the cables belonging to cable TV networks or Internet networks attached to power supply poles be removed immediately to prevent outages and accidents.

The spokesman urged the consumers not to put extra load on transformers by installing undeclared higher capacity motors and extending their load in an unauthorised manner if they wanted to ensure fault-free and uninterrupted power supply.
