HUDA to construct houses for the poor

CHANDIGARH: Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda said on Tuesday that the Haryana Urban Development Authority (HUDA) would construct 37,513 houses in phases for people belonging to weaker sections of society.

Out of these, 15,311 houses were being constructed during the current financial year at a cost of Rs.460 crore, he said. He disclosed that the main aim of constructing these houses was to provide shelter to the needy. The tender for building these houses had already been issued.

Mr. Hooda said 7,352 houses for people belonging to economically weaker sections were under construction in Ambala, Faridabad, Gurgaon and Panchkula.
