PUDUCHERRY: Representatives of Parent Teachers’ Association of Thiruvalluvar Government Girls Higher Secondary School on Wednesday sought the intervention of Lieutenant Governor Govind Singh Gurjar to redress the grievances of teachers at the earliest.

In a letter addressed to the Lieutenant Governor, the representatives said that when they inquired about the reasons for the teachers to boycott classes and board examinations, it was found that the lecturers were fighting for the last 10 years to frame recruitment rules.

Union government order

Though the Union government had ordered State governments to review the recruitment rules every five years, it was not done in Puducherry, the letter said. Only when the recruitment rules are framed, the government would be able to implement Assured Career Promotion.
