Dal-BJP will get two thirds majority: Badal

Phagwara: Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) chief Parkash Singh Badal on Tuesday claimed that SAD-BJP alliance will get over two thirds majority in the February 13 Punjab Assembly polls.

Addressing a press conference here, mr.Badal, however, expressed apprehension about the possibility of violence and rigging.

He alleged that Punjab police chief S. S. Virk had struck a quid pro quo with Chief Minister Amarinder Singh in connection with the elections. ``That was why I had written to the Election Commission for shifting Virk'', he said.

He said that a party delegation would again call on Chief Election Commissioner in New Delhi urging him to immediately transfer Mr. Virk.

He said that any other officer could be posted in his place. Mr. Badal voiced full faith in the Election Commission for conduct of free and fair polls. PTI
