Chautala to be alliance’s Chief Ministerial candidate: BJP

Special Correspondent

CHANDIGARH: The newly-appointed Haryana BJP president Krishan Pal Gurjar launched a scathing attack on the performance of the Congress regime in Haryana on Tuesday and claimed that the BJP-Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) alliance would form the next government in the State.

Addressing media persons, Mr. Gurjar made it clear that former Chief Minister and INLD supremo Om Parkash Chautala would be projected as the alliance’s Chief Ministerial candidate.

Demanding a CBI probe into alleged “land scams worth over Rs.50,000 crore” during the tenure of Bhupinder Singh Hooda as Chief Minister, he said the Hooda regime must bring out a “White Paper” on recruitment of teachers and acquisition of costly land for Special Economic Zones.

Mr. Gurjar, a former MLA, accused the Congress of “triggering off the exodus by a few INLD leaders” but said such tactics would not save the party from the “strong anti-incumbency factor” which would be reflected in the verdict to be delivered by the people in the ensuing Haryana Assembly elections.
