CPI volunteers stage protest

Puducherry: Volunteers of the Puducherry State unit of Communist Party of India (CPI) held a demonstration in nine centres in and around Puducherry on Saturday, protesting against the ‘lack of cooperation from banks in sanctioning loans’.

Party secretary N. Kalainathan and member of the national council of the party R. Viswanathan participated.

Mr. Viswanathan said students faced severe hardships with the banks not making education loans available to them.

Similarly, farmers found it difficult to get crop loans.
