Achieve goals in a time-bound manner, Governor tells V-Cs

BHUBANESWAR: Governor Murlidhar Chandrakant Bhandare on Wednesday asked the Vice-Chancellors of different universities and top officers of various Departments concerned to implement the decisions taken at the Vice-Chancellors' conference in a time-bound manner.

Setting June 30 as deadline for implementations of several decisions take at the Vice-Chancellors' Conference held at the Raj Bhavan during the day, Mr. Bhandare said he would review the progress every three months.

The Chancellor also wanted to know about the progress of Gyanalok – his pet project involving universities where tribal villages are adopted and National Service Scheme volunteers spread awareness to check dropout rate and educate people and make everyone literate.

He called upon the Vice-Chancellors to joins with the School and Mass Education Department to intensify the drive through Gyanalok project.

The other issues that were discussed in the conference threadbare include timely conduct of examinations and publication of results, vacancy positions in various universities, uniform pension rule, affiliation to Sri Jagannath Sanskrit University, and eviction of encroachers from land belonging to different universities.
