A taste of Italy for Chandigarh

Special Correspondent

CHANDIGARH: Italian delicacies full of “true exotic flavours” are no longer a rarity in the City Beautiful now with Chandigarh getting its first exclusive fine dining restaurant with the opening of “La Dolce Vita -- Cucina Italiana” by a company running a chain of hotels in the region.

According to the Director of the company’s flagship Hotel Rio in the developing Sector 43 market here, Atul Grover, the restaurant offers under one roof a sumptuous rich cuisine which so far existed only marginally on the fringes of menus at hotels and restaurants across the region.

Perfect culinary experience

La Dolce Vita -- Cucina Italiana, which according to Mr. Grover means “A sweet life -- Italian Kitchen”, would combine simplicity and harmony of idyllic Italian surroundings and a perfect culinary experience.

The highlights of the menu are quintessential Italian pastas, pizzas and soups, says Mr. Grover, adding: “We wish to cater to an increasing number of Indians exposed to the nuances of Italian flavours.”
