Work on Haj House to begin soon

JAIPUR, JULY 24. The construction of a Haj House in Jaipur to facilitate the stay of Haj pilgrims from across Rajasthan before their departure will start soon after the conversion of land allotted free of cost and approval of the building's map. The two matters are currently pending with the Jaipur Municipal Corporation and the Jaipur Development Authority.

The State Home Minister, Gulab Chand Kataria, said in the Assembly on Friday that the State Government would render all assistance for construction of Haj House and try for its early approval. The land measuring one bigha was allotted for the purpose by the previous Congress-led Government at Ramgarh Road here in August 2003.

Replying to a question by the Congress MLA, Mohammed Mahir Azad, Mr. Kataria said the State Haj Committee had requested for allotment of 4-bigha land for Haj House, but added that no decision on the demand had been taken so far.

The Home Minister said there was no proposal for construction of a Haj House by the State Government in Jodhpur, through a building was being constructed there by the Marwar Haj Welfare Society. He said an expenditure of Rs. 1-crore would be incurred on the construction and it would include the allocation of Rs. 20 lakhs from the MP's local area development fund and Rs. 14.30 lakhs from the MLA fund.
