Timely payments of wages to teachers urged

BHOPAL, DEC. 6 . The Madhya Pradesh Assembly Speaker, Ishwardas Rohani, today took up the cause of the Shikshakarmis and issued instructions to the State Government to ensure timely and regular payment of their wages on a monthly basis.

The Speaker urged the Government to adopt a humane approach and create a system for ensuring timely payment of wages to the teachers.

The issue of Shikshakarmis was raised through a written query by Congress party's Ramnivas Rawat.

Mr. Rawat had wanted to know what the Government was doing to ensure regular and timely payment of wages to Shikshakarmis, who were working on meagre salaries.

He also brought to the notice of the House that the Shikshakarmis in three development blocks of Sheopur district had not received their wages since July this year.

Intervening in the discussion, the Congress MLA, Indrajit Patel, said that the Shikshakarmis all over the State were facing the problem of non-payment of

wages. He pointed out that large number of Shikshakarmis had not received their salaries for the last 4 to 8 months.
