Suzuki's assurance to Hooda on investment

CHANDIGARH: Suzuki Chairman Osamu Suzuki is understood to have assured the Haryana Chief Minister, Bhupinder Singh Hooda, that their future investment would be in Haryana only and they would make Gurgaon the Detroit of Haryana.

According to an official release here, Mr.Suzuki was interacting with the high-powered official-cum-business delegation led by Mr. Hooda which reached Suzuki Headquarters at Hamamatsu in Japan. Mr. Suzuki said that he had met Mr.Hooda in September during his visit to India and found him "very considerate and responding to the concerns of the investors in general and the Japanese companies in particular''. Suzuki had been in Haryana for the last 23 years and has not faced any problems.

He added that Maruti Udyog Limited was in the process of completing three projects on 600 acres of land allotted by the Haryana Industrial Development Corporation at IMT, Manesar.

Mr. Hooda said that Maruti was one of the key contributors in the progress of the State.

His Government would extend its support to the new ventures and consider its request for allowing the vendors an independent entity within the campus at IMT, Manesar.

During the interactive session, M.L.Tayal, Principal Secretary to Chief Minister, P.K. Chaudhery, Financial Commissioner and Principal Secretary, Industries, and Ashok Lavasa, Chief Co-ordinator, Investment Promotion Centre (IPC) jointly responded to the queries raised by the vendors.
