Sub-station capacity augmented

CHANDIGARH: The Dakshin Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam (DHBVN) has augmented capacity of its 33KV substation at village Arya Nagar in Hisar district from eight MVA to 12 MVA at a cost of Rs.15 lakh.

Stating this here on Monday, a spokesman of the DHBVN said that the Nigam had set up additional transformer of four MVA with a view augment the capacity of substation.

Earlier, there was only one transformer of eight MVA capacity at the substation to supply power to 22 villages surrounding Arya Nagar.

Due to increased number of connections in the villages and enhancement in load of existing consumers, the substation was getting overloaded causing problem of erratic power supply and low voltage, he added.

He said that with the commissioning of new transformer at the substation, over 8000 consumers, including 180 tubewells of the 22 villages have been benefited by way of increased voltage and regular power supply.
