Robbers strike at four places

NEW DELHI, FEB. 26. Four incidents of robbery were reported from different parts of the Capital today.

A woman was robbed of cash and jewellery by two unidentified persons who managed to gain access in her house at Seelampur in North-East Delhi.

In the second incident, robbers struck in the house of an advocate at Adarsh Nagar in North-West Delhi. According to the police, the incident occurred in the house of J.S. Cheema, an advocate living at A-Block Rameshwar Nagar in Adarsh Nagar, around 11 a.m. At the time, only his domestic help Hari Bahadur (25), who had been employed for the past five months, was present in the house when three persons barged in the house and forced him to part with Rs. 1 lakh cash and some jewellery at gunpoint.

At Prashant Vihar in North-West Delhi, two persons in a Santro car intercepted two employees of a private firm, Roshan Singh Rawat (26) and Ashwini Nayak (22), at gunpoint around 12 p.m. and forced them to part with Rs. 1.25 lakhs which they were carrying.

In Shalimar Bagh, three robbers struck in the house of Balwant Kishan Bhatia (60) at BH-Block during the day and forced him and his wife, Rajeshwari, to part with eight to 10 tolas of gold jewellery. However, somebody raised an alarm before the robbers could escape with the booty. The robbers then fled from the spot leaving the robbed items behind.
