Papers of 20 candidates rejected

NEW DELHI, APRIL 24. Following scrutiny of nomination papers today, 136 candidates are left in the race for the seven Lok Sabha seats from the Capital. The papers of prominent candidates of all the major parties were found to be in order during the scrutiny of 157 nominations.

While nomination papers of as many as 20 candidates were rejected by the respective Returning Officers, a decision on the validity of the nomination papers of an independent candidate from Chandni Chowk would be taken on Monday, the Chief Electoral Officer for Delhi, Arun Goyal, said.
