NEW DELHI: A 2,000-km journey across Rajasthan on motorcycles by 25 young men to promote public awareness about HIV/AIDS was flagged off here on Saturday.

The mission, called “Operation Desert Storm”, was flagged off by Delhi State AIDS Control Society project director B. S. Banerjee.

Parmesh Kumar, a member of the group, said: “We will cover over 2,000 km across Rajasthan in six days. We will stop over at several places, organise street plays and interact with the locals to educate them about various aspects of HIV/AIDS.”

According to the participants, the mission is being organised with the help of the National AIDS Control Organisation (NACO).
