Jarnail: act against traffic violator

Aam Aadmi Party MLA from Tilak Nagar Jarnail Singh on Thursday wrote to Delhi Police Commissioner Amulya Patnaik seeking action against a driver who allegedly did not stop his car even after being asked to do so by a traffic police personnel, who ended up jumping on to the bonnet of the car to stop him.

Mr. Singh said he had been a witness to the incident that happened on Tuesday at 5.35 p.m. The driver, who had violated traffic rules, was asked to stop by a the traffic Constable at Naraina Flyover. Mr. Singh said it was sad that the value of the constable’s life for his own employer was a “small challan”.

Sending a video of the incident, which he had shared on social media on Tuesday, Mr. Singh asked the Mr. Patnaik to take “stern action” against the driver for “endangering” the constable’s life.
