IMA expels cadet

DEHRA DUN: The Indian Military Academy here has expelled a final term gentleman cadet for his alleged "habit of stealing cash and valuables".

Disclosing this here on Thursday, a senior officer of the Academy said that the extreme step had to be taken as the cadet was caught stealing several times at the Academy. "He had a similar history at the National Defence Academy also. He was to pass out of here in December."

In a separate development, the military authorities have dismissed a havildar clerk and a rifleman and demoted another havildar for allegedly running a fake recruitment racket at Lansdowne Cantonment in Pauri Garhwal district.
