Trophy for BHEL

NEW DELHI: Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) has bagged the "All-India Trophy for Top Exporters" in the ''Project Exports" category for 2003-2004.

Instituted by the Engineering Export Promotion Council, the export award has been conferred on BHEL for the 15th year in succession. BHEL has identified overseas business as a major thrust area and booked export orders worth nearly Rs.1,200 crores in the current fiscal year.

Debit card promotion campaign

NEW DELHI: Punjab National Bank Chairman-cum-Managing Director S.C. Gupta launched the bank's debit card promotion campaign at its Sansad Marg branch here on Thursday.

Emphasising the importance and benefits of the debit card, Mr. Gupta highlighted PNB's achievements in ensuring customer convenience and personally handed over the debit cards to customers of the branch.

Water supply to

be affected

NEW DELHI: Because of major repair work, water supply will be affected in Rohini Sector-3, Mongolpuri, Sultanpuri, Paschim Puri, Paschim Vihar and Peeragarhi Pump House here on the evening of January 16.

Water supply will also be at low pressure in West End Colony, Dakshinpuri and Panchsheel area on January 16 due to annual flushing of overhead tank and underground reservoirs.

Similarly, water supply will be affected in Sanjay Gandhi TPT Nagar, Samaypur Badli Extension and Amba Bagh Colony on the evening of January 16.

Water tankers will be available at telephone No. 27521244 (Rohini Zone), 27924132 (Mongolpuri O.H. Tank), 26218543 and 29238543 (Greater Kailash-I).

Fashion show

NEW DELHI: Delhi Tourism and Transportation Development Corporation Limited is presenting a mega fashion show titled ''Paridhan Utsav" at Dilli Haat this Saturday.

The show will present traditional and contemporary fashion from different States of the country. There will be a special segment on Kashmir and tribal fashion of North-East India.

Exhibition

NEW DELHI: The Society Collection, showcasing the country's arts and crafts, opened at Asiad Village Lawns here on Friday. The exhibition was inaugurated by well-known singer Shibani Kashyap and Indipop singer Vipin Anneja. It will be open up to January 16.

Factory fire

New Delhi: A fire broke out in a helmet factory in West Delhi's Peeragari area early on Friday morning.

Fire department officials said the blaze started in the plastic waste of the factory at about 6-20 a.m.

The fire was put out at around 9-20 a.m. by 25 fire tenders, they added. No casualties were reported.
