`BJP inducting criminal elements'

NEW DELHI OCT. 13. The two-time Congress MLA from Hastsal, Mukesh Sharma, today accused the BJP of inducting criminal elements and bad characters into the party to create an unpleasant situation in the run-up for the Assembly polls in the Capital. But at the same time, he said, the people of Delhi and his constituency would give a befitting reply to the communal and criminal politics of the BJP and its allies.

Addressing public meetings at Uttam Nagar and Vikaspuri along with area Councillors, Satpal Sethi and Harphool Singh, Mr. Sharma said the spirit of the Congress party was very high and it was ready to take on the BJP in any part of the city. He said the development undertaken by the Delhi Government during the past five years was unprecedented and this would be the focus of the party's campaign in the Assembly polls. The Congress workers had been geared up to spread the message about the good work of the Congress Government and apprise the masses about the massive development works taken up and executed during the past give years. He said the BJP had not come to the help of the people during the past four and half years and now that the elections were round the corner, it was raking up issues which had no relevance for the poor people who had been hit hard by the anti-poor policies of the Delhi Government.

Mr. Sharma also announced that he would come out with an action plan to deal with the ``mischievous activities'' of the BJP by October 15. The BJP does not have any concrete issue on hand and that was why it was indulging in misleading propaganda. He said the BJP had no right to talk about corruption as its own Central Government was involved neck deep in various financial scams including the UTI scam which had wiped off the earnings of more than 2 crore families in one go. He said all efforts were being by the Opposition to indulge in mud slinging and character assassination.
