Misty morning forecast

NEW DELHINEW DELHINEW DELHI, DEC. 6.DEC. 6.DEC. 6 The Capital will wake up to a misty morning on Tuesday. According to the weatherman, it would generally be a clear sky and the minimum temperature would be around eight degrees Celsius.

The maximum and minimum temperatures at Safdarjung on Monday were 24.4 degrees Celsius and 9.4 degrees Celsius respectively. At Palam, the maximum temperature was 24 degrees Celsius and the minimum was 7.7 degrees Celsius.

While the maximum relative humidity at Safdarjung and Palam was 94 and 78 per cent, the minimum humidity at the two places was 27 per cent and 31 per cent respectively.

Robbers held

NEW DELHINEW DELHINEW DELHI, DEC. 6.DEC. 6.DEC. 6 Two persons have been arrested by the South-West Delhi police for allegedly drugging and looting passengers who would hire their autorickshaw after alighting at Delhi Cantonment railway station. The vehicle used in the crime has been recovered from them.

The police said Kishan Lal, a resident of Sector-3 Rohini, had lodged a complaint with the Mayapuri police saying that he had hired an autorickshaw from Delhi Cantonment railway station on December 2 for going to his house.

There was one more person in the vehicle apart from the driver. On the way, the two became friendly with Mr. Lal.

When they reached near Tilak Nagar flyover, they stopped the vehicle and bought "faluda kulfi" from Aggarwal sweets nearby and offered it to Mr. Lal. After eating the "kulfi", Mr. Lal became unconscious. When he woke up, he found himself in the jungles of Nihal Vihar in West Delhi. His suitcase in which he had kept Rs. 6,000 in cash and some jewellery was missing.

The Mayapuri police laid a trap on the same day and managed to apprehend two persons.

Teacher held

NEW DELHINEW DELHINEW DELHI, DEC. 6.DEC. 6.DEC. 6 A primary school teacher was arrested by the North-West Delhi police for allegedly beating up a student in the school at Narela in North-West Delhi today.

According to the police, Pradeep, a teacher at MCD Primary School, Narela, beat up 10-year-old Sonu, a student of Class V, over some trivial issue around 12-30 p.m. Sonu's knees were badly damaged due to the beating. Sonu informed his parents about the incident, who in turn informed the police.

A case has been registered at Narela police station and Pradeep was arrested. Further investigations in the case are on.
