NEW DELHINEW DELHI, AUG. 14.AUG. 14. The weatherman has forecast a generally cloudy sky in the Capital on Independence Day. The possibility of one or two spells of rain or thundershowers in some areas has not been ruled out.

The maximum and minimum temperature recorded on Saturday at Safdarjung was 34.5 degrees Celsius and 26.5 degrees Celsius respectively. At Palam, the maximum and minimum temperature was 35.7 degrees Celsius and 26.6 degrees Celsius respectively.

The maximum humidity at Safdarjung and Palam was 91 per cent and 96 per cent respectively whereas minimum humidity stood at 66 per cent and 58 per cent.

One killed in road rage

NEW DELHINEW DELHI, AUG. 14.AUG. 14. In what appears to be another case of road rage, a 35-year-old man driving a Toyota Qualis was killed after a person in a Maruti car hit him following an altercation over giving way in a narrow lane at Krishna Nagar in East Delhi last evening. The Maruti car driver fled from the scene.

According to the police, the incident occurred around 7 p.m. on Friday when Sushil Kumar, who worked for Mahavir Tours and Travels in Mandawli, was taking his relatives for a ride in the Qualis. He was in a lane of the Shankar Nagar-Part II area when a Maruti car came from the opposite side. The lane was so narrow that it was difficult for the vehicles to pass by.

There was an altercation between Sushil and the Maruti driver, following which the latter hit Sushil. Sushil apparently sustained serious injuries and collapsed. He was rushed to Surya Nursing Home where he was declared dead on arrival.

Meanwhile, the Maruti car driver vanished from the scene. A case has been registered at Krishna Nagar police station.
