Virbhadra Singh files nomination papers

MANDI: Former Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh filed his nomination papers for election to the Lok Sabha from Mandi constituency on Thursday.

The party had mobilised people from all over the State for the senior Congress leader.

Mr. Singh (75) is known to be a crowd puller and a fighter despite his ill-health and anti-high command stance.

No party leader has come so far for his campaign including Sukh Ram, who has represented Mandi in Parliament many times.

Virbhadra’s assets:

Mr. Singh declared his movable and immovable assets worth Rs.22 crore, the wealthiest candidate from the State.

But surprisingly he does not own even a single car.

He has represented the State thrice in the Lok Sabha. His wife Pratibha Singh is the sitting MP from Mandi.

The BJP candidate, Maheshwar Singh, is an erstwhile royal from Kullu.
