Software lauded for e-governance

The Union Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunication has praised a software developed by the Rajasthan State Agency for Computer Services (RAJCOMP) for online monitoring of activities of the citizens' service centres functioning in the State. A presentation on the software was made at a review meeting in New Delhi earlier this week.

RAJCOMP Managing Director Ashwini K. Sharma said here on Wednesday that the software was found suitable for being applied to expansion of citizens' service centre projects in other States.

Mr. Sharma said the Union Government had invited RAJCOMP to make another detailed presentation of the software at a meeting of the Apex Committee to be held on August 30 to highlight its utility and user-friendly features. The software has been described as a significant achievement under the national e-governance programme.

Mr. Sharma was accompanied by Praveen Bharadwaj and Sanjay Karnik of the State Government's Information Technology Department.
