Sankaracharya visiting Capital

NEW DELHI: Sri Jayendra Saraswathi Swamigal Sankaracharya of Kanchi Math is visiting the Capital for a six-day stay from December 11 to 16.He will be staying at Sri Devi Kamakshi Mandir on Aruna Asaf Ali Marg, opposite JNU east gate and will perform the third Kumbhabhishekam of the Kamakshi temple, established and maintained by the Math, on December 14. According to Pollachi Ganesan, in charge of the temple, the rituals connected with the Kumbhabhisekam will begin on December 9 with “Ganapathy homam”, “pravesa bali” and “vasthu santhi”. This will be followed by “Navagraha homam” and “mruth sankraganam” on December 10; “santhi, murthi and thisa homams” the next day; “yagha puja” on December 12; installation of “vimana kalasam” and pasting of “ashtabandana” medicines on December 13; and Kumbhabhishekam on December 14.
