Of bonds that bloom with time....

New soap opera traces the evolution of a couple in love

Balaji Telefilms proprietor Ekta Kapoor is all set to explore the transition from childhood to youth in her ongoing serial Tere Liye being aired on Star Plus.

This metamorphosis not only brings about physiological changes in the lead pair but also makes them mature enough to understand the deeper meaning of relationships in their lives. Taani (Anupriya Kapoor) and Anuraag (Harshad Chopra), who embark on their new journey from August 16, shed light on their respective characters at a press conference in the Capital on Thursday.

“It is basically a love story in which a boy and a girl develop feelings for each other over a period of time. Taani and Anuraag's love grows intense as they enter their youth. Every story has a message and here we have made an attempt to show how love makes a couple noble and selfless and how they forget everything barring their fondness for each other. As the story progresses, viewers would see the innocent couple transforming into a committed one. The serial also highlights sacrifice, selflessness and nobility that people experience when they are besotted with somebody,” said Harshad.

Anupriya, who was roped in by Ekta Kapoor, is playing a young Bengali girl in the serial. “Though I was born and brought up in a typical Punjabi family, I could easily relate to Taani. Luckily I was extremely close to my Bengali teacher Chandra Nandi. Therefore, I was able to adopt her mannerisms, body language, work in kitchen, bargaining with shopkeepers while portraying the Bengali character,” she says.

Macho star Salman Khan was always Harshad's role model. Acting was a natural corollary for him. Even after completing his studies in an engineering college in Pune, Harshad decided to pursue his childhood passion. “When I went to Pune, my parents dissuaded me from taking up modelling assignments or get bitten by the acting bug. It was an unknown territory for my father, a railway contractor. Eventually I followed what my heart desired and have been able to stand on my own feet with hard work and perseverance. My parents are staying with me in Mumbai for the past four years.”
