Man killed in GK-I shootout

NEW DELHI: A man was killed and another injured during a shootout in the Capital’s Greater Kailash-I area here on Saturday.

Police sources identified the deceased as K. C. Sethi.

The injured man, Salim Hussain, was rushed to the All-India Institute of Medical Sciences for treatment.

Preliminary investigations reveal that both men, said to be in their early 30s, were shot at by assailants known to the family at Salim Hussain’s Greater Kailash-I residence late in the evening. The police suspected personal enmity to be the motive behind the attack.

The Husain family runs a zari business and Sethi was an accountant who worked for the family.

Sources said the police received a phone call from a man who said he had been shot a little after 8 p.m. A police team was despatched and the injured was rushed to AIIMS.

A search for the assailants has been launched and the police have cordoned off the posh residential area.
