Lifestyle show a runaway hit

NEW DELHI: “The Hindu MetroPlus Lifestyle Show 2007” at Pragati Maidan here saw an enthusiastic response on Saturday.

While Generation X made a beeline for consumer electronics and Information Technology counters, others were seen admiring a wide array of arts, handicrafts and textiles on display and sale. With the auspicious marriage season about to begin, many girls accompanied by their parents were seen thronging the jewellery stalls.

Foreigners took a great deal of interest in the stalls displaying embroidered “kurta-pyjamas”, trousers, capris and ladies’ suits by the Khadi and Village Industries Commission. KVIC also showcased a wide range of saris from across the country.

Stalls displaying a wide range of jewellery items from Thailand also attracted visitors. College girls in good numbers were seen purchasing or bargaining at stalls selling cosmetics and perfumes.
