Five killed as ashram room caves in

Mathura: Five bodies have been recovered from the debris of an ashram room, which caved in on Saturday afternoon at Bharnakhurd village near Parsana police station, about 50 kms from here, district authorities have said.

“The exact figure of casualties could not be ascertained. However, five bodies have been recovered from the debris and over 25 injured. The condition of 10 are stated to be critical,” Mathura District Magistrate Anita C Meshram said after returning from the site.

The incident happened when about 150 sadhus had congregated on the ashram premises to take prasadam.
