Driver stabbed, robbed of cab

NEW DELHI: A cab driver was stabbed and robbed of his vehicle by four men at Chhawla in South-West Delhi shortly after midnight on Monday night. The vehicle was later found abandoned in Haryana.

Mithilesh Jha was passing through Chhawla when two men on a motorcycle and two others in a car intercepted his white Chevrolet Tavera. One of them allegedly fired in the air, asking Mithilesh to hand over the vehicle. Mithilesh offered resistance, at which they stabbed him and also hit him with the firearm butt.

The robbers then drove away in the Tavera. Mithilesh was admitted to Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Hospital.

The police have registered a case of robbery and murder attempt and are trying to identify the robbers.
