Delhi Metro to curtail services on R-Day

NEW DELHI: Delhi Metro railway services will be curtailed during the Republic Day Parade on January 26 and during the traditional Beating Retreat ceremony in the Capital on January 29.

Train schedules of Metro Line 2 (Central Secretariat–Vishwavidyalaya) and Line 3 (Indraprastha–Dwarka Sector 9) will be modified in view of extra security on these two days.

On January 26, no metro rail services will be available from Central Secretariat to Rajiv Chowk (Connaught Place) on Line 2 till 12-30 in the afternoon.

Similarly, there will be no metro rail services between Indraprastha–Barakhamba on Line 3 till 1 p.m.

Metro services on Line 2 will be available only from Rajiv Chowk to Vishwavidyalaya (Delhi University) from 6 a.m. to 12-30 p.m. and on Line 3 from Dwarka Sector-9 to Barakhamba Road from 6 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thereafter, normal metro train operations will be resumed on all lines.

Services on Line 1 (Dilshad Garden to Rithala) will be normal throughout the day as usual.

On January 29, metro rail services will not be available from Central Secretariat to Rajiv Chowk on Line 2 from 3-30 p.m. to 6-30 p.m. Services on Line 2 will be available only between Vishwavidyalaya and Rajiv Chowk during this time. Services on Line 1 (Dilshad Garden to Rithala) and Line 3 (Dwarka Sector-9 to Indraprastha) will operate normally.

Feeder bus services will be available on January 26 only after 1 p.m. on the Pragati Maidan-Mayur Vihar Phase I route.

More information about feeder bus services will be available at the concerned Delhi Metro stations.

In addition, all Delhi Metro parking lots will remain closed from 7 p.m. on January 25 to 1 p.m. on January 26 as advised by the Delhi police for security reasons.
