Cop commits suicide in court

A constable deployed at a fast track court here allegedly committed suicide on the premises, apprehending his name could figure in the charge sheet in the multi-crore Provident Fund scam case, the police said on Wednesday.

Rajpal Yadav (38) allegedly consumed sulphas tablets inside the court on Tuesday afternoon. He was rushed to a hospital where he died at night.

The police said Yadav had reportedly expressed his fear to some of his colleagues about his name figuring in the PF scam case.

Before taking the extreme step, Yadav had also sent a four-page sealed suicide note to District Judge Vishnu Chandra Gupta through a court employee, the police said, adding that the suicide note was forwarded to the SSP who refused to disclose its content. However, sources said Yadav had revealed some facts related to the scam in his note. - PTI
