CAT imposes Rs 25,000 cost on MCD

New Delhi: The Central Administrative Tribunal has pulled up the MCD and imposed a cost of Rs 25,000 on it for harassing a former officer by questioning the validity of his SC certificate.

The tribunal objected to the manner in which the MCD had initiated proceedings against P.C. Tomar, former Deputy Director (Horticulture), despite he being exonerated by the competent authority. The CAT passed the order on the plea of retired Mr. Tomar, who challenged the imposition of the penalty of a 10 per cent cut in his pension. — PTI
