Bus crew, passengers looted at gun-point

Agra: Unidentified men intercepted a private bus near Mathur village here and looted cash, valuables and jewellery from passengers and crew at gun-point, police said on Saturday.

The bus proceeding from Agra to Jaipur was intercepted near Mathur Village, some 20 km from here on Friday late night, and taken to an isolated area.

At gun point, the looters numbering about eight, snatched away the day’s collection of about Rs.7,000 from the conductor and took away passengers’ cash, valuables and other belongings, police said.

Protest

One of the crew was shot at the leg and a passenger manhandled when they protested.

The passengers blocked road protesting against the assault. Though a case has been registered, no one has been arrested. --PTI
