New Delhi: The Supreme Court has asked the Rajasthan government to immediately nab Prabhat Singh Rana, who was convicted and awarded life imprisonment by the Udaipur fast track court for raping a British woman. Rana was granted bail by the Rajasthan High Court but it was cancelled by the Supreme Court on January 16, 2009.

A Bench, consisting of Justices Markandey Katju and V. S. Sirpurkar, on Fridaydirected the State to initiate proceedings to attach the property of Rana, who is absconding. It should also initiate any other legal proceedings that were needed to nab him.
