A sumptuous treat at Aahar-2010

NEW DELHI: “Aahar-2010”, the five-day exhibition of the food processing and hospitality industries that attracted a number of buyers from India and abroad concluded at Pragati Maidan here on Monday.

After conferring awards for excellence in display at Hall No. 7 of the exhibition ground, India Trade Promotion Organisation executive director Neeraj Kumar Gupta expressed satisfaction over the enhanced participation and buyers' response at the silver jubilee edition of the fair.

“The fair was segregated into two shows -- Food India and Hospitality India. It fulfilled the demand of the supporting organisations. ITPO has decided to add another exclusive show for highlighting the food technology sector in the next year's fair,” he said.

Awards were presented to Indian and overseas participants in two categories of food and hospitality. In the food category, foreign segment, Ozmer Pastry and Beverages Products and Ind (Alpha Impex), Turkey, and the US Department of Agriculture won the gold and silver trophies, respectively.

Cosmic (PCB) Kitchen received the gold and Kohinoor Foods Ltd. got the silver trophy in the domestic segment.

Simply Stainless (Australia) and Rational International AG Switzerland won the gold and silver trophies respectively in the foreign segment of hospitality category. Swaran Projetech won the gold trophy and Stellar Gastronorm the silver in the domestic segment.

Organised by ITPO with the Ministry of Food Processing Industries and other associates, the fair drew 450 firms from India and abroad.
