A feast for the summer at Dilli Haat

NEW DELHI: Delhi Tourism and Transportation Development Corporation is organising a three-day “Sharbat Mela” at Dilli Haat here beginning this Friday.

Popular drinks from across the country like thandai, lassi, jaljeera, aam ka panna, sattu, kokam and various others will be on offer. Visitors can dig into chuski, kulfi, faluda and ice-creams.

A special attraction will be juices from Navdanya such as drinks made out of Ladakh Himalyan berries and sea buckthorn and rhododendron juice from flowers of the Himalayan tree. They have medicinal value.

Juices from organically grown mangoes, lemons, ginger, litchi and pudina will also be available.

An added attraction will be a cultural show to be staged during the evening on all three days. While watching it, visitors can sip sharbats and juices made from healing herbs and royal recipes.

“Traditional products that cool the body will be displayed for sale. Other cooling products like herbal thandai, traditional perfumes like ittar, gulabjal will also be displayed,” said Dilli Haat manager S.M. Zakir Ali, adding that Ashok Chaat Bhandar, Gulzar Chuski Wale and Siyaram Nanumal (Kulfi) from Delhi will put up their stalls.
